Description
The ACU/PACU Registered Nurse (RN) works collaboratively with the PAT nurse, MD and anesthesia to ensure patients are prepared for surgery. The RN will:
- Perform a health assessment prior to surgery and provides education about surgery and recovery to the patient and family.
- Monitor the patient and treat as directed by patient requests while in the PACU.
- Float to endoscopy as needed based off departmental needs.
Floating to other departments when there is low census may be required
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing (preferred)
- One (1) year of medical-surgical nursing experience
- Ambulatory Care experience (preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Vermont
- PACU Self Study Course (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
