Provide nursing care to adult patients on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit. Perform head-to-toe and focused assessments, administer medications, communicate with the interdisciplinary team, update patient and family on a plan of care, advocate for patient as needed, and document all care.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
EPIC, OmniCell, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, Zebra phones.
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Thorough attention to detail, understanding of a variety of disease processes, ability to communicate clearly, and work well on a team. Preferred minimum 2 years of bedside nursing experience in a comparably sized hospital.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations are required.
BLS - must be AHA. RN or compact state license.
Shift or schedule requirements.
12-hour shifts, rotating day/night, every other weekend, every other holiday.
Floating to over units/departments.
May be required to float to other med-surg units at SMCF and Broadway Sanford.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
32-bed unit, all single rooms.
