Oncology:
Oncology is a 41-bed unit dedicated to providing personable, innovative, and compassionate care to all our patients, including those with new or complicated cancer diagnoses and hematological disorders. Our team works most closely with Mercy Hospitalists, Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Palliative Care, Hospice, and Chaplains. Nurses within the Oncology unit have an opportunity to grow in skills such as:
- Central lines
- Wound care
- Ostomy care
- IV therapy
- Corpaks, G-Tubes, NG tubes
- And more
Patient Population:
- New or current complex cancer diagnoses
- Inpatient chemotherapy administration
- Patients transitioning to end of life care
- Hematologic disorders, such as sickle cell
- Medical surgical diagnoses, such as diabetes, wound management, respiratory failure, acute kidney injury, and more!
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of three years clinical experience required
- Education: Bachelor's degree required
- Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science or Masters in Nursing
- Licensure: Must have either a current RN Temporary Permit/RN license in the State of Missouri
- Other: Past experiences must have demonstrated leadership ability, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to apply sound principles of management and supervision. Must be proficient in use of a personal computer and must be able to analyze complex data from various information systems
