GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides nursing care to the patient undergoing endoscopic procedures. Collaborates with the patient and physician to provide care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts pre-procedural assessment and data collection. (25%)
  • Participates in the care of patients undergoing GI procedures. (25%)
  • Provides proper documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards and requirements. (25%)
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients from assessment through to the recovery period. (25%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Current licensure as an RN
  • Current BLS and ACLS within 4 months of starting
  • 1 year nursing experience or previous GI experience, if less than a year

Preferred

  • 1 year critical care experience
  • 2-3 years endoscopy experience
