Buffalo VA hospital is looking to hire a Employee Occupational Health Registered Nurse (EOH RN); One (1) Full Time Position
This is a variable day tour position with occasional evening or night shift rotation with the purpose of providing Employee Occupational Health support to frontline teams. Occasional travel to Batavia, Appletree, CBOC’s may be required.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The EOH RN executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex employee care. The EOH RN works in conjunction with the EOH Provider in support of worker-centered occupational safety and health procedures while also promoting worker health, monitoring, and tracking the health status and well-being of employees, and assessing workplace safety from hazards and contaminants in the workplace. The incumbent demonstrates sound decision-making and judgment and possesses excellent interpersonal skills and is self-directed and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and leading innovative process improvement initiatives. The incumbent demonstrates performance and leadership within the EOH team that improves the care for employees. The EOH RN contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care and ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The EOH RN is responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level, responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising the delivery of care to employees. The incumbent assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components and assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. The EOH RN administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Special qualifications for this position are as follows and must be met by the date of this posting:
- BSN in Nursing required. MSN preferred.
- Three (3) years RN experience in either primary care, urgent medical care or acute medical/surgical care setting, required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate physical assessments, triage patient (staff needs), and make sound, independent clinical judgments resulting in appropriate plans of care, required
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively as a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team, to meet department/organization mission and metrics, required.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize own work and function effectively without direct daily supervision, required.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationships and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, required
- Computer proficiency in the use of Microsoft, Word , Excel and PowerPoint required.
- RN experience in occupational/employee health and wellness and managing OWCP cases/employee injuries, preferred

Pay: $95,000.00 - $118,000.00 per year
