Job Summary and Qualifications

• Under the supervision of the director or designee, the registered nurse provides holistic, individualized patient care in response to identified needs. The registered nurse assumes accountability for the care of Cardiac Cath Lab patients. All functions will be performed in accordance with the standards, practice acts, and licensure in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization. Employee will recognize the population specific needs of the CAD, CHF, PVD, MI, UA and Angina patients and apply the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviors to meet those needs when performing patient care activities.

   

  · Follows patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.

  · Follows department policies and protocols for safety in Cardiac Cath Lab.

  · Supports hospital and departmental performance improvement goals.

  · Ensures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment and adhering to safety program and infection control programs.

  · Supports the HCA code of conduct. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with organization mission and goals.

  What qualifications you will need:

  • · Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • · Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • · Registered Nurse in the State of TX or possess a compact license
  • · Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • · At least 2-3 years’ experience in Critical Care, ICU, or PCU.
  • · Ability to read EKG monitors
