Pay Range: $ 55.74/hr - $ 65.50/hr- $ 75.25/hr
*Please note, the highest starting rate as a new hire is $65.50/hr, based on applicable experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Charge Nurse is a licensed professional responsible to ensure that the operations of the specific unit flow smoothly in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Core Values and Strategic Plan of the organization. As the first line of leadership, the Charge Nurse must have and maintain clinical competence, technical skill, human resource management, and demonstrate critical decision making.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
* One Year clinical experience in a Perinatal setting.
Desired:
* Bachelor's Degree in nursing or related field.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
* Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
* Current CPR
* Current ACLS
* Current NRP
* Current PALS (within 6 months of hire)
* Evidence of competence in EFM
* STABLE certification within 6 months of hire or first course offered (dept tracked)
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Demonstration of ongoing clinical and leadership competency as defined on the Charge Nurse Annual Competency Assessment Tool.
Employee Engagement: Ensure appropriate staffing levels and compliance with employment requirements. Communicates and supports mission and vision of organizational initiatives. Mentoring and staff development, including providing recognition and acknowledgment of staff efforts as well as managing personnel challenges. Participates in and promotes engagement action plans.
Patient Experience: Supports initiatives to improve HCAHPS, quality indicators, patient centered care. Ensures regulatory compliance, patient privacy, and patient safety.
Physician/Hospital Alignment: Collaborates and communicates with physicians appropriately. Supports initiatives related to improved physician alignment.
Financial Stewardship: Effectively manages daily productivity and resources.
