Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join the Radiation Oncology team. Our CoC/ACR accredited program specializes in delivering the safest treatment, using the most advanced technology, all aimed at delivering the optimal care plan for every patient. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing radiation treatment for cancer. Our program specializes in all forms of external beam therapy (SRS/SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, etc.) as well as brachytherapy (HDR, LDR, and IORT) across all types of adult cancers. You will work closely with our radiation oncologists and therapy team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and monitor patients throughout their course of treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ medical histories and provide comprehensive nursing care during radiation treatment
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with radiation oncologists and radiation therapists
- Monitor patients for potential side effects and provide appropriate interventions
- Educate patients and their families about radiation therapy, potential side effects, and self-care strategies
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Washington State licensure as an RN
- CPR certification is required every two years
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Strong patient assessment skills, ability to work collaboratively in team setting, current working knowledge of electronic medical records.
Preferred:
- 2 years of experience in oncology nursing, preferably in Radiation Oncology
- BLS certification
- Oncology nursing certification
