Title: RN Cardiology Pre/Post
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients to include: Pre-TEE, CVOR pts, transfers from Triumph and Cornerstone.
- Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for the Cath Prep Area and managing all assigned supplies, and equipment.
- Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care. Able to quickly identify changes in patient status (ie: Bleeding, hematoma, vagal response)
- Facilitates placement of patients on inpatient units in an expedient fashion. Able to perform patient discharges to home and or transfer back to LTAC.
- Communicates condition of patient to receiving unit after patient is discharged from the Cath Prep Area using the facility's hand off communication form.
- Starts and/or maintains existing IV lines and starts first dose of antibiotics or STAT meds ordered. Responsible to verify abnormal lab values and notify physician as necessary.
- Performs and documents admission assessments in the CVOR module. Proficient with Maclab and EMAR documentation.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners as an RN.
- Graduate from accredited school of nursing required.
- 2-3 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification
