- Must Have: (RN OR "REGISTERED NURSE" OR "STAFF NURSE") AND ("CARDIAC TELEMETRY" OR TELEMETRY OR MEDICAL OR "MEDICAL SURGICAL TELEMETRY" OR "MEDICAL SURGICAL" OR "ACUTE CARE")
- Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing from a school of professional nursing (required)
- BSN or current enrolment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
- Licensure/Certifications: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a Registered Nurse (required) .
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required).
- ACLS and PALS certification (preferred).
- TNCC (preferred).
- Experience: 1 year of nursing experience, ideally in an acute care ER environment
- Minimum one year acute care hospital experience required.
- Additional Information: Types of Services: Cardiac Telemetry Unit sees a lot of respiratory, renal, trachs, pegs and wound care – strong cardiac focus
- Will Accept Pending license: Yes
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Monthly Department Volume: 300 per month
- Turnover Rate for Dept.: 2-3 days
- Skills from other units that they feel will prepare the candidate for their unit: Behavioural experience.
- IDEAL CANDIDATES: Energetic, engaged, good communication skills, and dedication to team environment.
- Culture/Management Style: The manager is very involved in staff development and a lot of nurses move from this unit to cardiac specialized units like cath lab/ OR, ICU, strong relationship between nurses and doctors, good peer-to-peer culture of inclusion.
