Position Summary:
Provides nursing care before, during, and after Cardiac Rehab. Primarily responsible for the care of patients participating in Cardiac Rehab exercise program and Heart Failure clinic.
The RN is responsible for assisting with the procedure, providing patient education, assessment, and monitoring, administering medications as needed and participating in performance improvement activities.
The RN may also be responsible for conscious sedation monitoring of bronchoscopies as needed.
Provides age specific directed care for the adolescent, adult and geriatric individuals, i.e., those tasks necessary for physical care and comfort, supportive tasks and teaching according to standards of care and cultural diversity.
Participates in Quality Assurance and practices Infection control policies.
Practice in accordance with state and federal law and health care regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compact State required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Two years nursing experience to consist of Critical Care, Cath Lab, Emergency Department, or Telemetry.
Cardiac Rehab experience preferred.
Requires ability to function in stressful situations. Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice. Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to prescribe, delegate, and coordinate nursing care.
Requires the cognitive ability and practical ability to provide nursing care appropriate to the patient population assigned, considering patient age, growth and development, and diagnosis with full implementation of the nursing process to include Assessment/Reassessment, Nursing Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required within 90 days.
EKG arrhythmia training.
