- Conducting systematic, continuous, and comprehensive assessments of patient health status.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers for stabilization and fluid resuscitation in burn injuries.
- Assessing the severity of burn injuries using evidence-based practices.
- Providing comprehensive wound assessment and management for burn and complex wound injuries.
- Administering medications per licensure authority, assessing effects, and documenting administration.
- Assisting in rehabilitation phases, scar development, and contracture prevention.
- Collaborating with the patient and family to plan care using current scientific knowledge, theory, and care standards.
- Identifying and prioritizing patient problems based on assessment data, safety considerations, and patient preferences.
- Implementing nursing care interventions to meet patient and family-centered healthcare needs.
- Conducting regular and systematic reviews of patient/family responses to interventions.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate program of nursing (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of bedside nursing experience (preferred).
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the ability to obtain Kentucky Nursing License.
- Certification: BLS required; ACLS and ABLS preferred (or obtained within 1 year); CBRN certification preferred.
- Shift Requirements: 36 hours per week, 3 shifts/week.
- Demonstrates professional conduct and appearance, accountable for actions and outcomes.
- Orients new team members and supervises students.
- May act as a relief charge nurse when needed.
- Maintains professional competency through continuing education.
- Participates in evidence-based practice activities.
- Acts as a collaborative member of the healthcare team.
- Performs duties in a cost-effective manner.
