The post-operative nurse ensures patient safety throughout the continuum of peri-anesthesia care. The RN prepares patients for invasive procedures, including providing education, conducting health assessments, and development of a plan of care; monitors patients following surgical procedures, ensuring each patient and sponsor is prepared for discharge and understands at-home care and follow-up instructions.
Education: Graduate of a nursing program. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Experience: Prior PACU and/or orthopedic/spine experience is strongly preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Current Mississippi RN licensure is required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
