Position Summary
The Ambulatory Care Manager (ACM) reports to the Clinical Operations Director. In conjunction with the Clinical Operations Director, the ACM participates in the planning, development of new services, policy formation, human resource management, financial performance, patient care services operations and medical management, staff relations within area of responsibility.
This position's primary focus is with employees, patients, families, physicians, and the key contributors from other departments who impact the services of the department including ancillary and professional support services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job:
- People & Culture - Responsible for daily staffing, scheduling, and assignments for both clinical and administrative staff. Ensures that regular, resource, float and temporary staff have appropriate assignments based on the individual's clinical expertise and individual staff developmental plan. Accountable for the matching of staff to assignments and plans for special situations when a staff member does not have all unit specific competencies.
- Quality & Value - Responsible for customer service issues in each clinic and intervenes in problem solving issues (service recovery) with staff, visitors, or physicians. Ensures completion of appropriate documentation on all occurrences. Monitors patient satisfaction results and develops plans for continuous improvement.
- Financial Resilience - Ensures efficient and accurate billing processes for hospital and printing of physician fee tickets is maintained. Reviews and monitors department reports, e.g., Epic billing work queues. Develop process for co-pay collection.
- Physicians as Partners - Collaborates well with physicians to promote positive relationships by establishing and maintaining open communication and by addressing issues of concern in a timely manner.
- Governance & Leadership - Assures all regulatory requirements for hospital licensed 1206 (d) clinics are met and maintained, including The Joint Commission, Title 22, California Children's Services (CCS), disaster preparedness, Environment of Care (EOC) readiness, CLIA license, etc.
- Market Differentiation & Growth - In collaboration with Clinical Operations Director and Executive Director contributes to strategic planning and business plans for program development, optimal space design, and expansion.
*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements
Qualifications/Work Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of active nursing practice in oncology and/or infusion specialty
- Prior nursing leadership in Ambulatory Care setting highly preferred
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- BSN required but MSN preferred.
- Active CA RN license
- AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification required or OCN certification.
