Insurable Risk Department
As part of the Treasury Group, our emphasis is on protecting the firm's balance sheet through the Risk Management process of 1) risk identification; 2) risk analysis; 3) risk mitigation; and 4) risk transfer. Insurable Risk works closely with several groups within the firm to coordinate these efforts. Insurable Risk contracts with multiple third-party consultants, insurance brokers and claim administrators to assist in managing several of the "Insurable Risks" within the firm, as well as creating and maintaining positive business relationships with key commercial insurers.

Problem Solving:
Associate must recognize, analyze, recommend and implement approved solutions to issues that reach $100,000 in magnitude. Processes and procedures are formalized but (1) circumstances surrounding claims vary widely and (2) interpersonal situations can be complex and emotional requiring skill in finding fair and equitable solutions to associate insurance related problems. Oversight of associate's work would be at least weekly. Creative thinking about problem solving is a strong plus.
Decision Making:
Risk levels for errors in decisions would generally be limited to < $10,000. Advanced intermediate functional skills are needed to make the correct decisions for the work assigned. Organization, thoroughness and attention to detail are critical. Generally works under pre-established guidelines and procedures. Recognition of what is within and outside of one's authority is critical. Will decide how and for how long to pursue subrogation claims.
Span of Influence:
Interacts with other associates, divisions, (i.e. H.R., Legal, Branch Facilities, Facilities, Security, HelpDesk, Compliance), insurance brokers, insurers and third party subrogates. Periodic formal training of Branch Facilities staff in loss control and claims handling. Speed and quality of response to needs and losses by financial advisors can significantly influence their behavior. Has no supervisory responsibilities. Influences departments approach to Risk Management. Duration of impact could be as long as a year, but generally shorter.
Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.

Responsibility Summary :
- Responsible for organizing annual renewal of insurance policies for 2 countries, including scheduling, collecting data from approximately 36 internal departments, completing and submitting applications, ensuring receipt of binders and policies and timely and accurate payment of invoices. There are approximately 48 policies renewed annually with premiums totaling approximately $7,000,000.
- Manages subrogation program for firm's losses below deductibles
- Maintains insurance files and records.
- Coordinates general liability and property loss prevention programs and claims resolution with Branch Facilities, Security and HR.
- Maintains insurance section of the firm's intranet site (JonesNet)
- Implements claims resolution programs for associates and financial advisors for business interruption and business related personal property claims.
- Assist Director for budget process for approximately $10,000,000 of annual Risk Management expense.
- Attends quarterly worker's compensation claims meeting with broker and insurer to monitor and report unexpectedly large adjustment on JFC's loss fund for the current and prior years.
- Coordinates resolution of property, general liability, auto and professional liability claims filed with the firm's insurer(s).
