Job description

Duties

Assists in the planning, directing, and executing of major departmental projects; assists the Director in performing project management roles for inter-departmental projects. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with local and federal law enforcement, public safety, and intelligence agencies; assists with the coordination of USCP and Capitol Police Board issues with other federal agencies. Implements outreach efforts, training, and security assistance to Senators, committees, and senior level Senate staff in relation to public event coordination, physical security, personal protection, and other related matters. Assists Director in determining and summarizing key intelligence and Threat assessment issues for the SAA and DSAA. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Work Experience

  • 5 to 8 years

Security Clearance

  • This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens in order for the SAA to submit your application for a security clearance.

Required Special Skills/ Knowledge

  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessment, threat analysis and security assessment in the Legislative Branch.
  • Knowledge of principles and current planning methods of continuity and business recovery operations, and emergency management.
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, methods, and practices of project management including project budgeting, staffing, risk management, and requirements analysis.
  • Knowledge of analytical skills in the area of open-source searches.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with Senate staff, local, state, and federal law enforcement and security agencies.
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion with others regarding sensitive and confidential issues.
  • Ability to analyze difficult and complex issues and make recommendation for action.
  • Ability to develop and implement both short-and long-range project plans.
  • Ability to lead project teams and to bring projects to completion on time and within budget.
  • Ability to conduct research and prepare analyses and reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of or experience in threat assessments and security of high profile or government officials.
  • Experience working across organizations and/or within operations centers to achieve a common goal.
  • Self-motivated with effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use discretion and diplomatically handle challenging, stressful, and sensitive situations.

Working Conditions

  • Sedentary (carrying items less than 25 pounds).
  • Schedule may fluctuate and may require reporting on after hour emerging situations, to include late evenings and weekends, with little to no notice.

Education

Bachelor's Degree.
