REPORTS TO: Technical Section Leader
LOCATION: Offshore Newfoundland, Canada
JOB SUMMARY: Rig Mechanic is responsible for monitoring and maintenance of the mechanical equipment.
PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Marine Diesel Mechanics Certificate or Equivalent Combination of Experience and Training
- 1+ years experience as a Rig Mechanic on a Semi-Submersible or Similar Installation
- 2+ years? experience with AKMH, MH Wirth and MH Crown Compensator equipment preferred
- Knowledge of technical calculations required for mechanical operations
- Structured and organized mindset
- High level of integrity
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background /Pre-Employment Screening Checks.

- **Offshore Safety Training will be provided
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic installation, maintenance, and repair in a safe and prudent manner
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance on mechanical equipment
- Maintain and repair mechanical systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment and tools
- Identify and respond to abnormal operation conditions and/or patterns of equipment
- Carry out periodic maintenance according to the maintenance system guidelines and coordinate that maintenance with supervisors and other department heads
- Ensure that requirements concerning regulatory bodies are met in all cases of equipment repair and installation
- Comply with the permit to work and isolation system
- Maintain service reports and advise supervisor on condition of equipment and spare parts requirements
- Other duties as assigned
