Role: Pueo has an opportunity for an experienced Top Secret cleared RHEL Engineer to support our customer in Lorton, VA. We are seeking a skilled and experienced RHEL Engineer to design, implement, and manage Red Hat Satellite Server infrastructure, ensuring seamless software management, provisioning, and patching of systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage Red Hat Satellite Server infrastructure to ensure efficient software management, patching, and provisioning of systems,
  • Design, develop, and maintain Ansible automation playbooks to streamline and accelerate various system administration tasks, deployment processes, and configuration management,
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective automation solutions,
  • Implement and manage patch automation strategies, ensuring timely and secure application of updates across the infrastructure while minimizing downtime and impact on services,
  • Ensure systems adhere to STIG compliance standards by conducting regular assessments, audits, and remediation activities,
  • Work closely with security teams to identify vulnerabilities, security gaps, and potential risks; develop and execute plans to address these issues in accordance with industry best practices,
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to automation processes, patching, and compliance, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal disruption,
  • Research and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, best practices, and trends in automation, patch management, and security compliance,
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.

Qualifications:

  • An active Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience),
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, configuration, and troubleshooting,
  • Proficiency in Ansible automation playbooks, including design, development, and maintenance,
  • Strong understanding of patch management strategies and tools for Red Hat systems,
  • In-depth knowledge of STIG compliance and experience implementing security controls,
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell,
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues,
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices,
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE),
  • Certified Information Systems Security - Professional (CISSP), and Ansible certifications are a plus.
