Job description

We're provide solutions for the engineering, procurement and implementation of a broad range of applied systems and technologies with focus on wireless/RF/Microwave/Cellular, communications, and telecommunication networks and systems. These include wireless network technologies, fiber/ copper infrastructure, Ethernet, and more spanning a wide range of systems to include all areas of wireless technologies.
At this time, we're seeking a RF/Microwave Communications Designer who will be responsible for design and implementation of RF/Microwave technology-based systems on a design-bid-build and design build or turnkey basis. You'll provide oversight, construction management services, and guidance of Staff and Clients as required.
We'll ask you to provide the execution of project plans, schedules, and budgets. You'll also assist with the monitoring and reporting of project progress and development of project deliverables as required based on the respective project(s). In addition, the position is responsible to coordinate with the various project teams, inter/intra office/discipline coordination, and project management as required to include, but not limited to schedules and budgets.

• Substantial years of professional expertise applying RF/Microwave technologies, deployments, and commissioning of systems. This experience should demonstrate a progression of responsibility, including design, implementation, and management experience.
• EIT, P.E., BICSI - RCDD/OSP. and/or PMI, PMP is desirable.
• RF/Wireless infrastructure design supporting multiple Wireless technologies to include all (voice/data) DMR, LMR, Microwave, Cellular deployments including Mimo, public/private Wi-Fi/WiMAX, RF over fiber networks, and more for above ground and underground applications in a large campus environment
• RF - Tetra, 7/8/900, V/UHF Radio, 4/5G, UWB, P25, and others
• Experience in FCC, Industry Canada regulatory procedures and filings
• Practical experience with RF propagation software tools such as EDX, LMR Planner, or similar.
• Demonstrate practical experience in design/engineering of contract drawings, specification writing, and project reporting.
• Experience in executing technical work plans and schedules while maintaining project budgets and schedules as required.
• Knowledge of and practical working experience with applicable codes, standards, and regulations to include IEEE, FCC, ADA, NEC, NFPA, and others as it pertains to communications systems designs
• Carrier-grade fiber optic network design supporting Gigabit Ethernet services and core enterprise operations
• Knowledge of and practical working experience with Electro-magnetic Interference (EMI) analysis and assessment to ensure Electro-magnetic Compatibility (EMC)
• Structured cabling infrastructure, grounding, and telecommunications equipment room and Data Center designs
• Network design including system architecture, VLAN, Layers 1, 2, and 3, and various switching configurations
• Knowledge of and practical working experience with Microsoft Office productivity suite including Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of and practical working experience with file sharing applications such as ProjectWise, SharePoint, or other web-based data sharing programs/applications.
Other Essential Requirements:
• Candidate must have a valid driver's license, have a vehicle available and can travel within the Northeast or as required
• Candidate must be willing to travel on occasion and as required by the projects, and adhere to Jacobs Policies and procedures
• May occasionally be required to work outdoors in various geographic regions and in wide variety of weather conditions and facilities
• May be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of equipment
• May be required to traverse underground tunnel and railroad right of way environments.
• Candidate must recognize the need and be willing to work non-business hours as required. This may involve nights and weekends
