RF Power Amplifier Module Designer 5G

Job Description:

In the RF Power Business Unit, we design transmit solutions for 5G, RF Power transistors and MMICs for Aerospace and Defense applications as well as RF Energy applications. You will:

  • Be responsible for the design, test and release of new, high efficiency, highly integrated RF Power amplifiers modules for 5G applications, based on our GaN technology.
  • Work with our package and assembly teams to come up with new and more cost-effective packaging and assembly methods.
  • Design the transistors, MMICs, IPDs or other internal matching networks, using state-of-the-art simulation tools.
  • Initiate and execute prototype builds, load-pull and thermal characterization. You design RF Power characterization fixtures and perform measurements to verify if the product meets the requirements.
  • Work with our Product Engineering group to transfer the product to production.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree (BSc, MS, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar studies. 
  • More than 3 years of experience in RF Power amplifier design and products.
  • Fluent with modern simulation tools such as ADS or AWR.
  • Knowledgeable in high efficiency RF Power architectures and their impact on the active die technology.
  • Familiar with high levels of RF Power amplifier integration and design for high yield and low cost.
  • Experience with EM simulations (HFSS or other) as it relates to RF Power amplifier design.
  • Operation and calibration of an RF Power (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meter) test setup.
  • Hands-On board level tuning and optimization of matching networks.
  • Provide clear status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing DC and RF test data.
  • Load-pull experience is a plus.
  • Non-Linear Active Device modeling experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drawing packages is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long lasting partnerships.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
