The Cyber and Non-Kinetic Effects (CNKE) directorate of ARA is seeking an RF Modeling & Simulation Scientist to assist with developing hardware and software tools to help the Department of Defense address its biggest challenges in Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO). The CKNE directorate is looking for a mid-level engineer with both experience in the RF domain (e.g., radar system, electronic warfare, communication system analysis, etc.) and programming experience to contribute to several EMSO projects covering modeling and simulation, algorithm development and characterization, mission planning, and test system development.
While you help solve problems of national importance, you will work with senior software developers and domain experts to grow your knowledge of radar and communications systems, modern software development, electronic warfare, and advanced system testing.
RF Modeling & Simulation Scientist Responsibilities:
The RF Modeling and simulation Scientist will work under the direction of senior EMSO subject matter experts and developers to contribute to system designs, software implementations, and performance assessments covering a variety of current and future EMSO projects.
RF Modeling & Simulation Scientist Required Qualifications:
- Due to the work you’ll perform you will need to be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment
- BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 2-4 years of experience or MS with 0-2 years of experience
- Programming experience in Python or C++
- Conceptual familiarity with radar, electronic warfare, or communications systems
- Experience modeling and simulating radar or communication systems
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Minimal Travel (~15%) to support customers as needed
- Hybrid Opportunity Available to support teams at our Raleigh, NC office
RF Modeling & Simulation Scientist Additional Desirable Qualifications:
- MS in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Programming experience in MATLAB and Java
- Experience with Git, GitLab
- Experience writing software which interfaces with RF or FPGA hardware
- Familiarity with electronic warfare concepts
- U.S. DoD SECRET (or above) clearance
