Introduction
The Department of Revenue is looking for a self-motivated individual to provide leadership and direction to auditors responsible for full-scope audits of Wisconsin corporation franchise/income taxes.
Remote/Telework up to 60%. Note: After completion of probation, you can gradually increase up to 60% based on performance and workload needs. This position's headquarters location will be either the Madison or Milwaukee office.

Position Summary
The Corporation Audit Supervisor is expected to manage, plan, develop, implement, administer, monitor, and evaluate a comprehensive statewide auditing program. In this position, you will supervise and manage a unit of auditors responsible for auditing taxpayers' WI tax liabilities. All auditors supervised by this position are responsible for full-scope, detailed examinations of taxpayer books and records. You will also work with taxpayers to resolve complex or disputed audit issues.

Salary Information
Starting salary will be between $41.25 per hour and $50.83 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits. For information on state benefits click here . Current state employees' pay will be set in accordance with pay upon appointment provisions of the compensation plan for broadband 81-02. A two-year Career Executive trial period may be required.
Job Details
The department will conduct a background check, fingerprint check and tax compliance check prior to making an offer to hire. Interview results may be reused in accordance with the State of WI interview reuse policy.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting or equivalent work experience (e.g., professional experience auditing accounting records and/or procedures, using generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), or a combination of academic preparation and professional auditing experience, etc.).
  • Experience auditing corporation franchise/income tax returns.
  • Experience with training or presenting tax or other technical topics to individuals or groups in a professional or academic setting.

Qualifications that may be evaluated at a later stage in the selection process:
  • Supervisor, lead worker, project leader and/or team lead experience.
