About Us:
Middle River Aerostructure Systems is a world-leading manufacturer of thrust reversers (the braking system on a jet engine), engine nacelle components and specialized aerostructures. It supplies and supports these products for engine makers, airplane manufacturers and aircraft operators. Located on Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MRAS has a 1.7-million sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres – where the company and its predecessors have designed, built and equipped civil and military aircraft for over 90 years. In 2019, MRAS was acquired by ST Engineering North America, the U.S. affiliate of Singapore-based ST Engineering – becoming a part of its global network of aerospace facilities and offices. With the ownership change, the company was renamed Middle River Aerostructure Systems.


About the Role:

MRAS is seeking a highly driven individual to act as a liaison for the RMA process as a Returns Processing Expeditor. The Returns Processing Expeditor will be responsible for the movement of RMAs (Return Material Authorization) within the organization and will work cross functionally with Shipping, Receiving, Sourcing, Quality, and Program departments to ensure the RMA process is being followed and adhered to in a timely manner. The Returns Processing & MRB Expeditor will be a team member of the Production Control department, reporting to the Inventory Manager. In addition to RMA management, the Returns Processing & MRB Expeditor will help streamline and manage process flow of MRB (Material Review Board) product throughout the facility.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with Receiving personnel to identify problems with individual receipts of RMAs and escalate issues to appropriate parties.
  • Keep active Inventory of Returned Parts in RMA Problem Cage and Receiving Dock.
  • Improve Customer Experience by partnering with Supplier Quality weekly on reoccurring root cause analysis for Customer Returns.
  • Develop and publish weekly metrics for all steps of the RMA process.
  • Utilize Excel to track progress of RMAs through the Returns and Tag processes.
  • Partner with the Continuous Improvement Team, where necessary, to lean out and streamline Returns process.
  • Use SAP to match Tags, written by the Receiving Inspection Department, to the inventory showing in the RMA sub-inventory.
  • Become SAP Subject Matter Expert for all Parts of the RTV/RMA process.
  • Write, Publish, and Train all stakeholders on SOPs and Process Flow Map(s) for the entire RMA/RTV process.
  • Establish an Onboarding Checklist for all functional areas to be successful with the RMA/RTV process.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 5+ years in Inventory, Warehouse, Manufacturing, and/or any related work experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • 1-4 years of experience in any ERP system is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field.
  • Experience with SAP S4 HANA.
  • Returns experience from any Warehouse/Distribution/Fulfillment/Manufacturing Center.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience with creating SOPs and/or Process Flow Maps.
