Job description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Responsible for receiving and processing medical equipment return shipments skillfully. Inspect returns for quality and identification, complete paperwork and properly record and store information.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Under limited supervision, applies considerable processing knowledge to perform a broad range of tasks, which include but are not limited to inspecting returned products and documenting inspection results.

  • Inspect all returned products and document inspection results.
  • Carry out tasks in a diligent manner according to written procedures and/or instruction.
  • Receive, Unbox, and verify device inventory utilizing and Operating Vertical Lift Machines, Pallet Jacks and other warehouse management equipment.

  • Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures utilizing proper safety equipment.

  • Utilize SAP to verify status of returned products

  • Deliver device(s) to corresponding department(s).

  • Ensure working environment is safe and clean.
  • Perform necessary disinfection and documentation required for returned products.

  • Operate basic functions of medical devices prior to disassembly.

  • Basic diagnostic testing of medical device.

  • Disassembly of Medical devices and components for refurbishment or scrap.

  • Refer to senior staff or management for assistance with day-to-day problems as needed

  • Proper safety equipment must be used at all times
  • Keeps up-to-date records with devices in Database  
  • E-Mail appropriate personnel for current status of devices in SAP / MES

  • Operate Forklift

  • Scan and record devices(s) into Access Data Base

  • Check status of devices using SAP

  • May provide assistance to junior staff with more complex support tasks that require a higher level of understanding of functions, as directed by immediate supervisor.

  • May escalate issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.

  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Bending carrying, kneeling, Lifting, pushing and pulling standing, stooping and walking.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Blood borne Pathogen Training
  • Ability to perform duties Under universal precautions understanding that any returned products may have been exposed
  • to blood and/or body fluids
  • Comfortable performing Proper disposal of returned Bio Waste if applicable
  • Comfortable using hands in small spaces, disassembling mechanical and electronic components.
  • Loading and unloading medical devices and components from delivery vehicles in varying weather conditions

 

SUPERVISION:

  • None

 

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree a plus

 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:    

  • 3 – 5 years related experience
  • Understand all aspects of the job and junior positions.
  • Data inputting experience preferred.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination provided by Fresenius.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in team settings. .
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools, and light power tools
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and dependable.
  • Material handling equipment experience (Forklift, Scissor lift, Electric pallet jack, Etc.) a plus
  • Understanding of quality systems or GDP a plus
  • Basic understanding of electronics a plus.
  • Must receive mandatory Compliance, GMP, and OSHA Training.  Employees will be offered the HBV vaccine.
  • Any additional training specific to position requirements will be provided
