RETOUCHER & ARCHIVIST

About the Role

T9 is looking for a passionate Retoucher/Archivist to join our small but mighty creative team. This position reports directly to our Production Lead and will work closely with our Art Directors. This teammate will be responsible for the highest quality retouching image processing, proofing, quality control, color matching for print and digital imagery, and image archiving. This is a high volume role. The ideal candidate will not only be an expert in color, they will also have the tools to maximize efficiency, time management, and the ability to take direction. They’ll be based out of our Emeryville, CA office Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for timely retouching and delivery of a large quantity of photo assets, from on location lifestyle photography to studio on body images, and various product laydowns.

• Participate in color reviews with Art Directors for digital and print.

• Process and review multiple rounds of color proofs matching to product samples, and Art Directors specifications for publication in print.

• Complete all color work for digital-specific images including timely delivery of color-corrected images for launch.

• Implement and upkeep file systems including photoshop layer organization, file naming, server structure, and photo archive.

• Oversee freelance retouchers to meet production requirements during crunch weeks.

• Maintain archiving and server management; collaborate with IT to resolve issues as needed.

• Implement processes to streamline retouching and overall workflow processes.

• Maintain and order supplies for proofing equipment.

You also have

• High level of proficiency in Adobe PhotoShop, Capture One, Lightroom, and Adobe InDesign; experience with Acrobat, and G Suite.

• 3+ years of experience with fashion/apparel, or editorial/lifestyle brands.

• Expertise in retouching natural skin tones.

• Keen eye for color and detail with experience matching product photos to physical and digital swatches.

• Experience with post-production techniques using non-destructive image workflows.

• Experience with light and shadow for realistic creation of drop shadows and textures.

• Used to working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

• Strong communication skills to ensure on time delivery/removal of roadblocks.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet ongoing marketing deadlines for both print and digital workflow.
