Job Description
We are currently seeking a talented, enthusiastic individual to join our Retirement Plan Administration department as a Retirement Plan Consultant. The Retirement Plan Consultant is responsible for assisting the department with Retirement Plan administration, testing, and compliance and may participate in special projects requested by clients. Tasks are conducted under limited direct supervision but under the review of a Manager, Director, or Partner.

Responsibilities:
- Import census information and asset information in preparation of all annual testing
- Prepare complex Forms 5500 and related schedules
- Review more basic Forms 5500 and related schedules
- Responsible for plan administration, including trust accounting and other related projects
- Possess technical familiarity with plan rules regarding distributions, loans, and hardships
- Perform ERISA research relating to employee benefit plans and payroll issues
- Prepare employer contribution calculations using various allocation methods (i.e. pro-rata, permitted disparity, and cross-tested formulas)
- Perform annual compliance testing (i.e. ADP/ACP discrimination testing, top heavy testing, and 402(g) and 415 testing)
- Respond to client questions or inquiries
- Draft and develop client communications
- Identify and communicate opportunities/issues with superior
- Demonstrate competency with necessary software
- Enter time, prepare billing invoices, update schedule, record CRM activities, and enter CPE credit completion in a timely manner
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; 2+ years of applicable experience
- Experience with Retirement Plan specific software
- Knowledge and understanding of ERISA and IRS regulations pertaining to Retirement Plans
- Ability to be flexible to changing circumstances and client needs
- Ability to creatively solve problems and analyze client data
- Strong attention to detail applying accounting concepts and theory
- Ability to learn new processes and information quickly
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills, a team-based attitude, and a desire to collaborate
Preferred:
- Experience with Relius software
- Experience with Forms 5500 and 1099-R and proficiency with preparation
- Experience with compliance testing (including ADP/ACP discrimination testing, top heavy testing, and 402(g) and 415 testing)
- Experience with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs)
- Experience with Defined Benefit/Cash Balance Plans
- ASPPA, CEBS, or NIPA certification(s)
