Job description

SuperiorUSA Benefits, a fast growing, Midwestern payroll and third party benefits
administration/consulting firm, is seeking a new team member in our Retirement Plan Services
department to handle the administration, compliance, and reporting for a group of Retirement Plan clients.
In this service area, we work as a third party administrator (TPA) of defined contribution and other Retirement Plans
including 401(k), profit sharing, 403(b), Cash Balance, and defined benefit plans.
We are looking primarily for a consulting level addition, which could either be a junior or senior role within our
organization, but consultants generally would have prior Retirement Plan management, consulting, and/or
administrator experience. Depending on your background, your responsibilities would involve managing and
servicing a block of Retirement Plans, working with external clients and servicing partners including financial
advisors and recordkeeping partners, managing and directing support staff, performing year end valuations,
administration, and compliance testing, preparing Form 5500’s, plan design and technical consulting, plan document
and amendment preparation, performing DOL and IRS correction procedures, as well as transaction processing
including distributions and loans, payroll and contribution remittances, etc.
The opportunity we have would be located in either our Duluth (MN) office located in Canal Park or in our
downtown Davenport (IA) location. A competitive compensation package will be determined based on your
experience, skills, and education, over a wide potential pay range for Retirement Plan Consultants (junior or senior
level). The position is full-time and will be eligible for our benefits package including our group medical insurance,
group dental, employer funded Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), employer funded Health Savings
Accounts (HSA), 401(k) and Profit Sharing Retirement Plan including 3.5% QACA Match, Section 125
Flex/Cafeteria, company paid Short-Term Disability insurance, voluntary and supplemental insurance options,
parking, and PTO plus paid holidays. No travel is required and hours are shorter in our industry during the summer
months. There is a significant opportunity for advancement within our organization since we have a history of
promoting from within given the specialized kind of work that we do and our flexibility in creating roles that suit
someone’s particular interests and skill set. Our Retirement Plan Consultants benefit from incentive-based bonuses
and/or comp-time arrangements to reward employees for good work and for meeting deadlines.
Applicants should possess strong communication, phone, and customer service skills; adept computer skills across
Microsoft Office and other software; strong technical and conceptual abilities (such as in applying accounting,
investment, and legal concepts); an acute attention to detail; a willingness to learn and solve problems; self-discipline
and a self-starter’s attitude; and the desire to be part of a team. While no specific experience is required, direct
experience working with a TPA administering Retirement Plans or similar is preferred and some relevant experience
is expected (such as in accounting, benefits administration, human resources, or financial services/investments). In
addition, experience with Relius (administration system), FTWilliam (document, administration, 5500, and client
portal software), PensionPro (workflow and CRM software), common unbundled recordkeeping platforms
(American Funds, Empower, John Hancock, MassMutual, etc.), professional designations (CPA, QPA, QKA, APA,
etc.), pooled and balanced forward plans, and/or Cash Balance and defined benefit plans, will be considered
significant pluses. While the position has the possibility of some remote work, proximity to one of our office
locations will be required and preference will be given to in-office hires in our locations (signing bonus and/or
reimbursement for relocation can be arranged as part of a compensation package). We are open to applicants from
varying backgrounds in how their application and candidacy comes together.

cover letter/email indicating your location preference and general compensation range, through our website or via email to
