POSTING is currently for part-time at our three retail The UPS Store locations. However, a part-time position could transition to a full-time position if you meet the requirements to become a Florida Notary Public outlined below. THIS IS NOT A JOB WORKING FOR UPS nor does it offer paid holidays, vacation or insurance.
PAY RATE: Hourly $12-$15 per hour depending on experience and skills
SCHEDULE: Schedule issued weekly, and will vary from week to week. Your availability MUST include Monday and Wednesday from 9:30-6:30 and Saturday 9a-3p.
BUSINESS HOURS: Monday through Friday 8am-6:30pm, Saturday 9a-3p and Sunday 10-3p (with after closing wrap up of approximately 15-30 minutes) Please include information about your availability when applying.
The Retail Sales Associates at our locally owned The UPS Store locations deliver world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.
The ideal candidate has previous Retail Sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets all customers as they enter the store environment in a friendly manner
- Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
- Continuously practices good listening and verbal communication skills with customers, UPS Store team members, and leadership
- Takes ownership of the customer's business needs and offers viable solutions
- Everyone Sells - Takes action to learn all product and service offerings and alternatives to cross-sell and up-sell products and services
- Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others
- Assists in merchandising by maintaining a well-stocked, clean, organized, and safe working environment, which includes daily housekeeping duties.
- Multi-tasks successfully while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy of date entry and sorting of mail.
- Respects privacy of customer and business information and details of customer interactions
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the duties of this position.
If over 18 years of age, a high school diploma is required.
Three to Twelve months of Retail/customer service experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math
Able to learn and retain detailed and varied methods of shipping, packing, mail processing and other services and how to apply each correctly
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ideally Adobe Suites
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain harmonious relationships with customers in person and over the phone.
Prompt, reliable, and responsible team-player
Able to lift 50 pounds regularly and to stand for extended periods of time. Manual hand dexterity required to operate POS, copiers and complete customer paperwork.
FOR ANY FULL TIME POSITION: After 90 day training/probationary period, you would be required to become a Notary Public in Florida

- Are at least 18 years old
- Are a legal resident of the State of Florida
- Can read, write, and understand English
- Have not been convicted of a felony, even those kept off your public record.
NOTE:: If you have been convicted of a felony, you can apply to be a notary under the following conditions:- Provide a written statement of your charges, which includes the date, crime, circumstances, and about your life post-conviction
- Provide the journal entries (sentencing order and judgment) copies to the state. To do this, a certified copy must be ordered from the court that convicted you
- Provide a Restoration of Civil Rights Certificate (RCR)
