About the Position
Are you a results-driven sales professional with a passion for customer service? Join our creative team at Meissner Sewing & Vacuum Centers in Sacramento. We are currently hiring both part-time and full-time Sales Associates to provide exceptional service to our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Expertise: Utilize your sales experience to engage customers, recommend products, and achieve individual and team sales goals. You will provide recommendations, locate merchandise and place orders when necessary. You’ll also collect and follow-up on potential sales leads.
Customer Engagement: Greet and welcome customers, offering assistance, and answering product and service-related questions.
Product Knowledge: While sewing, quilting, or embroidery knowledge is beneficial, we prioritize your sales skills and willingness to learn about our products. You will demonstrate and sell sewing machines to meet team and individual goals.
Transaction Handling: Handle cash transactions, process orders, handle refunds, and maintain customer records in our point-of-sale system and online through our Shopify website.
Visual Merchandising: Assist in creating inspiring merchandise displays to enhance the shopping experience.
Safety: Promote and maintain a safe working and shopping environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of sales experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to exceptional customer service
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Flexibility in work schedule
- Ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds

Pay
- Hourly wage plus commission
Additional Information:
- We offer 1:1 sales training with our store manager in Sacramento, along with a senior sales representative who you can shadow and learn from.
- Given the wide range of sewing machines we offer, with prices spanning from $200 to $40,000, this role presents excellent commission potential for our sales team.
Experience and Requirements:
- Sales and customer service experience is required.
- Sewing, quilting, or embroidery knowledge preferred but not required.
- Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and cash handling is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create a welcoming environment for customers.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds.
