Retail Sales Associate

First MFG Co. started in 1987 with a suitcase full of leather and an American Dream. Realizing the demand in the leather jacket market, our owner set out to provide the motorcycle world with a top quality product at an honest price. Over the last 30+ years, we have dedicated our time and effort into creating a product that is built to last. Starting out in small shops in NYC, First MFG Co. quickly became one of the largest wholesale leather brands in the country. In 2016, FMC expanded its footprint and launched a retail division which focused heavy on the motorcycle lifestyle. A year later we quickly expanded and released our Customs program. To this day, we remain one of the largest manufacturers based in the US and continue to produce products for hundreds of brands including our own.

Our retail location is fairly new, but our foothold in the local market is firm. We want someone to help us cultivate our brand and push forward with us. The retail store has a fun, energetic atmosphere with lots of opportunities to help do social events in the motorcycle world. We're an inclusive team with a forward-thinking attitude and the drive to battle our competition.

First Manufacturing Co. is looking for a part-time Retail Salesperson to join our team at our Freeport, NY location. This position will have hours both during the week and weekend. We are actively looking for this position to be filled and are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide them with excellent customer service
• Assist customers in finding the products they need
• Maintain personal knowledge of the products carried by the company
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure that the store is stocked with the necessary products
• Order products from the nearby warehouse as needed
• Open and close the store by yourself
• Handle cash and credit card transactions
• Keep the store clean and organized
• Come up with new ideas for ways the store can reach out to customers in the area to increase foot traffic
• Be able to cover down at the storefront if the Manager has to run to go handle an event.

Requirements:

• Retail experience is necessary
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions
• Availability to work a maximum of 32 hours per week, including weekends

Preferred:

• Key holder/Store Opener experience
• An interest in the motorcycle community or even just the leather/fashion community.
• No Degree Required
