The Retail Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. The Retail Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist with providing medications to patients in a timely and accurate manner. The Retail Pharmacy Technician collects, prepares (including chemotherapy and other hazardous substances), and delivers medication orders as directed by the Pharmacist. The Retail Pharmacy Technician ensures sufficient and accurate drug and supply inventories; this is achieved by assisting with: inventory, receiving, verifying, storing of medications, processing credits, entering and transmitting drug orders, and processing of patient charges. Pharmacy Technician’s work only under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Licensure: Current California Pharmacy Technician Certificate required.
Experience: Three (3) years’ of experience in a Retail Pharmacy within the last 5 years. Has experience as an inventory expert. Has experience processing and communicating with pharmacy benefit managers, including submitting TAR’s for Medi-Cal patients. Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
The hourly rate for this position is $28.32 - $31.23. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
