ABOUT THE ROLE:The Retail Buyer is responsible for strategic procurement of Cannabis Products to improve Consume Cannabis' position in the market. The buyer will focus on all purchasing activities that will maintain a consistent retail inventory, drive sales, and strengthen gross margin.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Analyze inventory levels of retail products against sales data to ensure that dispensaries are adequately stocked.
- Understand market trends and analytical data to support purchasing decisions.
- Monitor Store Budgets and work with accounts payable to ensure timely payments.
- Regularly communicate with on-site store managers and assistant managers.
- Coordinate Returns / Refunds on faulty products with the manufacturer.
- Negotiate Vendor Day Promos with managers and promotions teams.
- Analyze point of sale software to ensure correct product data.
- Create Analytical reports to drive purchasing decisions.
- Track lead times to ensure timely order deliveries.
- Research prospective vendors then compile the list and collaborate with Purchasing Manager.
- Maintain Internal Inventory/Supplier Databases (Vendors, Quantities, Discounts).
- Communicate timelines with our warehouses to ensure all products arrive in good condition and timely.
- Maintain good customer and supplier relations.
- Identifying opportunities for operational enhancements and efficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- Bachelor's degree or 2 years of industry experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and analytical reporting.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to create ad-hoc analytical reports and think strategically.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.

- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn software.
- Must be willing to develop a strong understanding of the laws, rules, and regulations of the cannabis industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field.
- 2 year's of experience in a buying position.
