A Retail Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their shopping needs, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. They play a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers.
The ideal candidate will quickly be able to adapt to the brand, values, and culture of the company, evoking passion and excitement for the process in all involved while providing an upbeat and positive client and team experience. 99 Scott is a mixed-use venue located at the intersection of East Williamsburg and Bushwick. Comprised of three distinct settings featuring indoor and outdoor spaces, the venue is perfectly suited for creative events, private gatherings, and photo & film shoots. Established as a cultural hub, 99 Scott already supports the creative expression and various needs of our Fashion, Art, Culture, and Technology partners. A true representation of the Happier brand, 99 Scott currently operates to cater to our community.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell products, including upselling and cross-selling, to maximize sales and meet targets.
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, answering questions and offering product recommendations.
- Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and operate cash registers.
- Restock and arrange merchandise on store shelves and maintain an organized and visually appealing store layout.
- Keep track of inventory levels, perform stock checks, and report discrepancies to management.
- Ensure the store is clean, well-maintained, and free of safety hazards. Perform regular cleaning and tidying tasks.
- Process customer returns and exchanges following the store's policies.
- Stay informed about product features, benefits, and promotions to effectively assist customers.
- Assist in preventing theft and report any suspicious activities to the security team or management.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive working environment and ensure the store operates smoothly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to persuade and sell products, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Basic math skills and experience with cash registers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry merchandise, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- A keen eye for detail to ensure accurate transactions and organized merchandise.
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, as retail hours may vary.
- Honesty and trustworthiness in handling cash and maintaining store security.
- A basic understanding of the store's products and services.
- Ability to work well with colleagues in a cooperative and supportive manner.
