ReStore Cashier

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Hours: Tues. – Sat. as determined

Summary:

The ReStore Cashier is responsible for maximizing sales and providing excellent customer service while adhering to all organization standards, policies, and procedures. The role’s primary responsibility is to serve our customer as a cashier. Additional responsibilities will include and are not limited to: supporting customers at point of sale ensuring a positive experience, answering questions on products, features, discounts, and refund policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties with a positive attitude.
• Guarantee integrity and accurate cash handling.
• Understand policies and procedures for point of sale including safety, quality standards and proper customer service.
• Keeps all areas, in and around the cashier area, clear and free of safety hazards.
• Collect customer data, on receipts/other documents, as required by ReStore Management.
• Answer phone calls and assist with customer inquiries.
• Attempt to resolve customer service problems; immediately report escalating issues to Management. Attend and participate in store meetings and training sessions as required by ReStore Management.
• Support ReStore team efforts to drive staff development, donations, sales, and profits to further Habitat's mission. Be an ambassador of the Habitat Program.

• Articulate the values and goals of Lafayette Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
• Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work well and communicate effectively with other individuals.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with staff, volunteers, and the public.
• Good organization skills.
• Be a team player and able to help where needed.
• Have basic proficiency in computers and mathematics.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to do heavy lifting up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to stand and work the register and computer for long periods of time.
• Will also experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
