Job Description
We are looking for an experienced; outgoing Restaurant Manager to join and develop with our current Management team in our Casa Guadalajara Mexican restaurant. Must be able to work in a fast paced, family Mexican restaurant environment. This position will ensure all daily activities run smoothly and efficiently, and you should be familiar with restaurant operations and have a good understanding of what makes great customer service and hospitality! You should also be available to work within opening hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Ultimately, you will help minimize operating costs, boost our employee retention and deliver a positive dining experience for our Guests.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for training employees for the new OSHA/CDC guidelines of safe operation in the COVID environment.
- Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff
- Prepare shift schedules
- Monitor hours and assist with the process of payroll for restaurant staff
- Work with Kitchen Manager to supervise kitchen staff and manage server staff and provide assistance, as needed
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly labor costs and revenues to include meal and rest breaks.
- In conjunction with other management staff, arrange for new employees’ proper onboarding (e.g. scheduling trainings and ordering uniforms)
- Monitor compliance with new COVID safety and hygiene regulations
- Interact with guests to obtain feedback and solve issues as they arise; as a result recommend improvements as needed
- Daily food tasting
Skills
- 2 years’ work experience in Full Service Restaurant in a Management position; 4 years’ experience preferred
- Bilingual strongly preferred
- Familiar with CA labor laws (e.g. wage/hour, sexual harassment/discrimination)
- Requires excellent organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Works well under pressure
- Ability to develop strength in guest service with Guests and employees
- Hands on strong Team Player
- Good Understanding of Financial aspects (e.g. Labor and food controls)
- Excellent Communication and team management and training abilities
- Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends)
- Minimum High school diploma; some college preferred
- Must have new ServeSafe Manager certification
- Must have the new alcohol and beverage training and certification
