Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of the operations: staffing, guest service, financial performance, execution of promotions, and maintenance of a full-service restaurant. Must possess strong leadership skills including vision, communication, listening skills, and a strong work ethic. Must have prior leadership experience in the restaurant industry. Must be able to motivate and inspire employees to high levels of guest service and satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead by example in work ethic, guest service and absolute integrity.
2. Oversee day-to-day operations, including all reservations, staffing, training, food prep, food presentation, guest relations, large-group contracts, vendor relations, invoice tracking, costs controls and profitability of the restaurant.
3. Work closely with the restaurant owners to monitor key metrics, including COGS & Labor Costs, and achieve high performance.
4. Coordinate in-house operations between FOH and BOH departments.
5. Develop shift leaders and assistant managers.
6. Effectively resolve conflict among staff and/or among guests.
7. Support local marketing efforts to increase brand awareness and build the brand in the local community.
Qualifications
1. Minimum 5+ years of restaurant management experience
2. Proven leadership capabilities with strong references
3. ServSafe certification required
4. Commitment to excellence and high-quality food and service
5. Fluent in English – able to write, read and speak English proficiently
6. Strong quantitative skills – weekly inventory, P&L, pricing, spreadsheets, forecasted volume
7. Solid computer skills – proficient in typing, navigating Windows, using MS Office (Word & Excel), ability to learn Point of Sale System, Reservation System, and Back-Office software.
Working Conditions
1. 90% of time standing and 10% of time sitting.
2. Direct contact with guests, managers, employees, and vendors throughout the day.
3. Behaves professionally and can be flexible in a changing environment.
4. Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and transport up to 70 pounds regularly.
5. Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy with correction.
6. Must be able to see to 20/20 vision with correction.
7. Travel will be required for 5-6 weeks of training out of state, plus occasional training visits thereafter.
Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 annually, plus bonuses and paid vacation, benefits stipends, depending prior experience and the local market.
