GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies under licensed medical direction.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (45%)
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
• Complete charge duties and special projects as assigned. (10%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Minimum

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program required. Formal training in intubation.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BCLS required upon hire.
