World Relief Upstate is seeking a Resource Aide to lead move-in efforts for newly arrived refugee clients, maintain inventory of donations of household items, and secure any needed items to welcome new families to the area.

This position is out of the Appleton, WI office. 20 hours per week.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Participate in regular move-ins for arriving refugee clients while collaborating with the Community Engagement department and their team of volunteers
  • Drive, load, and unload moving trucks during move-ins
  • Coordinate furniture pick-ups and donation drop-offs
  • Assist with inventory and organization of storage units
  • Obtain needed household items that have not been donated in anticipation of arriving refugee clients or coordinate with volunteers to do so
  • Coordinate with caseworkers and other relevant staff to determine basic needs of clients after arrival
  • Assist with donation drives, depending on need
  • Record and track all donations in online database Microsoft Dynamics
  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Adaptable to frequently changing work environment
  • Ability to work efficiently as a team of staff and volunteers to set up houses for newly arrived refugee clients within tight deadlines
  • Detailed in documentation
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of basic furniture assembly and use of power tools, preferred

Requirements

  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Current driver license and maintain good driving record, ability to pass motor vehicle record check
  • Ability to drive a 20-foot rental truck for move-ins
  • Ability to frequently lift heavy furniture, around 80 pounds

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.
  • Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.
  • Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
