Job Description
The Residential Solar Crew Lead directs all electrical phases of a Residential Solar installation to ensure projects are delivered safely, at the highest quality, on time, and on budget.
Job Duties:
- Mobilize and direct the crew and equipment on-site.
- Review one-line diagram and other job docs to ensure they are accurate and complete.
- Review materials delivered to site to ensure adequate quantity and type.
- Ensure installation is completed safely, on time and according to design.
- Be the field point of contact for the homeowner/
- Oversee company timekeeping and electronic project documentation.
- Maintain a daily line of communication with the PM team throughout the project.
- Submit daily end of day job reports to the PM.
- Coordinate with PM to schedule final inspection with utility.
- Ensure system commissioning to verify system is operational. Fix any issues.
- Ensure field report is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Enforce Artisan safety and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot systems as necessary.
- Communicate with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner, answering all questions and concerns to the best of your ability.
Qualifications:
- Valid, up-to-date Washington State 01 or 02 License for Journeyman Electrician.
- Minimum 2 years as a Solar Crew Lead required (applicants with no solar and or no extensive electrical experience will not be accepted and or reviewed)
- Experience installing both roof and ground mount systems.
- Experience with micro and string inverters as well as setting up monitoring systems.
- Must have full range or mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions (inclines, heights, attics, crawls) and environments (outdoors year-round).
- Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
- Experience complying with OSHA safety requirements and regulations.
- Professional in appearance, with excellent customer service skills.
- Slightly obsessive about details and organization.
- Great attention to detail.
- Must be comfortable doing residential service upgrades and full knowledge of NEC requirements.
- Must be a team player, open minded, and eager to learn.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid WA Driver's License and clean driving record required.
- Initial background check and drug screening required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Certifications
- Current NABCEP Installer Certification
- Previous leadership experience
- OSHA 30
- Knowledge of local AHJ/Utility requirements
- First Aid & CPR
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Ability to withstand heights, climb ladders and be on roofs
- Ability to bend, squat, stretch and lift
- Ability to work in all weather and climates
- Ability to work in confined spaces, such as attics
What We Offer
- The gross take home hourly rate will be $38-$42/per hour, depending on experience, licensing, and education; additional benefits package (see below) adds $17/hour to the gross take home hourly rate

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
