The Department of Safety, Community Corrections Division is seeking a Residential Services Manger to join our team.
The Manager position is within the Community Corrections Division (CCD), for the Department of Safety. The agency administers alternative to incarceration programs including pretrial services, in- home detention, and residential Community Corrections facilities. The CCD has a diverse and dedicated staff committed to enhancing public safety and working with the community and other criminal justice agencies.
This position will oversee multiple aspects of residential programming including facility operations, and/or regulatory responsibilities of contracted programs, and administrative services. The Division is excited to welcome an administrator to support the new 90 bed residential program. The Men’s Opportunities for Re-Entry (M.O.R.E ) Center will build upon other residential program’s operating in Denver. This team will be focused on diversity, inclusion and teamwork through a lens of supporting program participants re-entering the community.
Our Program is a unique reentry experience for men returning to the Denver community after incarceration in the Department of Corrections and for men directly sentenced to Community Corrections. Our Program provides a reentry experience that is anchored in evidence based, trauma informed and safe practices. Our Program recognizes that men enter the criminal justice system and often have prior or current experiences of abuse, mental illness, substance use, economic and social marginality, homelessness, and complex relationships.
Our Program encourages candidates to apply who reflect the diversity of the participants in the program. Successful candidates must complete a background investigation that encompasses the applicant's employment and criminal history. We value diverse experiences, prior contact with the criminal legal system is not exclusionary for most applicants. Candidates cannot not be under current criminal justice supervision.
The MORE Center is a residential re-entry facility and operates on a 24/7 basis, and applicants should expect to work non-traditional shifts and workdays as needed to ensure safe and effective programming. This team will be located at 570 W 44th Ave, in Denver, CO and has free employee parking and is located 3 blocks from the 41st and Fox RTD Lightrail station.
Job responsibilities will include:
  • Managing one or more residential Community Corrections programs and/or additional operational area(s) within the division’s Residential Services teams.
  • Representing the City’s Community Corrections initiatives and interests with a focus on the delivery of superior customer service
  • Ensuring staff are sufficiently knowledgeable and dynamic regarding customer service protocols and performance expectations.
  • Implementing initiatives, and achieves goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Community CorrectionsResidential Services.
  • Organizes and applies standards, procedures, systems and guidelines. Implements policies, programs, operating procedures and practices.
  • Champions continuous improvement, including devising new strategies and new opportunities including creating connections that foster community relationships for wraparound services to facilitate ongoing behavior change.
  • Establishing relationships with community organizations which provide clients with opportunities for mentoring, resources, and community support
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience working in Community Corrections including experience managing a 24/7 residential program for justice involved individuals and expertise with state regulator requirements.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of research and interviewing techniques sufficient to be able to determine what information is needed, secure and analyze desired information, and formulate logical recommendations
  • Consistent attention to detail and the ability to multi- task
  • Commitment to working collaboratively within a team to ensure work is completed timely
Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position:
  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field based on a specific position(s).
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
