Job description

Job Description

Vermont Farm Table is a solid wood furniture manufacturer that has grown over the past decade from a small residentially-focused company to a multi-channel provider of beautiful custom products. Sales range from residential to larger commercial projects locally and nationwide. Every project is unique and all products are made to order in our Bristol, Vermont Woodshop with a focus on sustainability and heirloom quality.

In the role of Residential Sales Representative, you will be responsible for managing the daily inflow of direct-to-consumer inquiries and communication, providing quotes and sales materials, and generating sales. You will be expected to educate clients on standard and custom products and input client and product information into the VFT Operations Database. This position will be responsible for supporting the Senior Sales Team and their respective channels through project-based work including research into new clients and opportunities, managing a database of potential new clients, outreach and follow-ups, and other sales-building activities as needed.

The ideal candidate will be excited about the opportunity to grow with a proven track record of success in direct-to-consumer sales. In conjunction with this growth, there will be compensation structure adjustments with the possibility of sales-based commissions. This structure and compensation plan will be based on performance and established sales goals and expectations.

Onboarding

In order to guarantee success the onboarding process will be holistic in approach. The core of your training will be led by the Senior Sales Team of two; they will educate you on the sales process, internal systems, and expectations in terms of work style, communication, and team interaction. The Product Development & Lead Estimator and Director of Operations will educate you on the existing product line, learning how products are engineered and manufactured. You will spend time with the Woodshop Foreperson and the Support & Logistics Lead to review delivery practices, approach, and post-sale client care. The expectation is that after the onboarding intensive, you will be ready to hit the ground running.

This is a ‘remote’ role with the option to work in person at the Woodshop in Bristol. Alternative workplace venues may be offered/considered. You will be provided with a company computer and phone number for customer service and sales purposes.
