Position Summary: The primary purpose of the Residential Life Coordinator Lead is to create and maintain a supportive communal living environment among Harvest Home's residents. The RLC Lead works closely with our team to coordinate a healthy residential living environment (the home) to support resident program plans. The primary responsibility is to provide onsite supervision and assistance with daily evening activities in the following areas: chores, meals and meal planning, policies, classes, and independent and community-living skills. 


Position Schedule: 

Monday through Friday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (40 hours per week) with the expectation that scheduling holes would require coverage - Alternative schedule one day a week (12-8pm) and occasional staffing of other days/times/hours as needed and as available. 


Essential Duties 

Include but are not limited to: 

  • Create a joyful, innovative, empowered, welcoming, structured, and safe home environment which inspires engagement, follow through, and ownership. 
  • Supervise a residential team of 4-5 shift team members including feedback, communication, hiring, training, etc.  
  • Create and manage household structure, activities & schedules (Chores, classes, meals and meal planning, activities, etc). 
  • Work closely with residents to meet program goals and expectations. 
  • Connect with class teachers, volunteers, and donors coming into the home for groups, classes, events, workshops, service opportunities, etc. 
  • Work with each direct report to develop measurable goals and evaluate performance on a regular basis.  
  • Model, uphold and adhere to organizational and staff values, processes, and standards. 
  • Proactively communicate information as it pertains to community-living and the home environment. 
  • Maintains a positive, strengths-based and culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, therapeutic environment that is in keeping with the mission and values of Harvest Home. 
  • Engages in crisis prevention and crisis intervention to de-escalate incidents of potential harm, aggression, etc. and may also coordinate emergency responses as needed. 
  • Facilitate meetings with staff & residents on a daily and/or weekly basis (both 1:1 and group meetings)  
  • Support and guide residents collectively in order to promote an environment / relationship of accountability based on trust and respect. 
  • Address behavior concerns with residents collaboratively, directly and in a timely manner.  
  • Provides all necessary documentation of resident behavior and interventions attempted. 
  • Assists with the transition of new residents into the residential living environment through facilitating their move-in and orientation, initiating hospitality and community integration efforts. 
  • Establish and cultivate respectful and appropriate relationships with residents of diverse backgrounds. 
  • Support and guide residents individually in order to promote an accountability relationship based on trust and respect. 


Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in social service field (non-profits, residential, missions, etc.) 
  • Minimum of 1+ years' experience supervising residential staff or equivalent.
  • High EQ in order to foster respective and appropriate relationships with residents in order to serve our population well including an understanding of and sensitivity to concerning homelessness, women’s health, pregnancy, parenting, trauma, mental health, etc. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication (open, honest, humble) and organizational skills. We value solution-oriented feedback and problem solving.  
  • Ability to work as a part of our Harvest Home team while also filling a solo shift role. 
  • Comfortable leading and executing in the day-to-day. 
  • Smart Phone Required (cell phone stipend offered). 
  • Driver’s License and Personal Vehicle for occasional resident transportation. 
  • Acceptance of organization ministry standards (to be provided after application). 
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office, Email (Google or Outlook), Chat Tool (ex: Slack), etc.  


Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working with many of the following: high-risk populations, women, homelessness, pregnancy, infancy, victims of trauma, mental health, substance use, domestic violence, poverty, TAY, Foster care, DCFS, etc. in social welfare, social work, counseling, hospitality, and related fields.  
  • Prior experience working in a shelter, group home, and/or residential treatment program. 
  • Crisis-intervention and/or de-escalation training, skills, and/or experience.

  • TB clearance and documentation 
  • Compliance with COVID safety requirements including proof of vaccination
