Job description

The Instructor will work in a home working with8 individuals who have developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors. The Instructor is responsible for implementing and documenting daily teaching program activities as outlined in the individuals' program plans. Will assist these individuals with daily living skills, monitor individuals and perform personal care as needed. Will provide transportation and assist with community and social/recreational activities and perform housekeeping duties as assigned.
A high school diploma or GED is required. Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred. Must have demonstrated ability to provide effective teaching to persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors. Must be able to provide physical assistance (lifting/transfer up to 10 lbs.), assist with personal care and behavioral intervention as necessary. Must be able to communicate effectively with persons receiving services. Must have ability to read and carry out requirements of an Individual Service Plan (ISP). Must be able to observe and report (verbally and in writing) on the behavior and development of individuals.
***Staff will be cross trained to work both men's and women's home***

Time of Day: Evening
Hours per week:40
Schedule: Monday through Friday: 12:00pm-8:00pm (Staff meetings on Thursday, 12:00pm-2:00pm).
Wage: $14.65 per hour (+ $1.00 per hour night awake differential from 10:00pm to 6:00am +$1.00 per hour for any weekend hours beginning Friday @ midnight through Sunday @ midnight).
