Experienced Residential Group Home Counselor

General Position Summary:

Oversee daily functioning of the Residential Group Home Youth. Responsible for providing a supervised safe and supportive environment for youth in care to obtain an education, practice daily living skills, address mental health challenges, improve social skills, develop family support and prepare for independent living.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Monitor and Supervise residents at all times ensuring they are in the line of site at all times.
• Ensuring residents participate in daily scheduled activities that includes: chores, counseling, educational guidance.
• Develop and implement social, recreational and educational activities.
• Maintain Daily Log; Document progress notes on residents on the daily basis.
• Preparation of meals for clients in accordance with the menu, including the participation of clients in meal preparation.
• Transport residents to extracurricular activities, including doctor appointments, mental health appointments, drug and alcohol programs, projects etc.
• Housekeeping Duties including the supervision of clients chores, maintenance of the facility vehicle, maintain mileage log and report nay damage to vehicle.
• Provide supportive group counseling sessions on a daily basis. Providing individual supportive counseling to residents as needed.
• Prepare all required reports at the end of each shift, documenting all activity daily ongoing.

• Ensure the Group Home is in compliance with Title 22 regulations and CARF national accreditation standards.
• Attend and Participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings
• Function as a Patient and Reliable Team Player; Support and be accountable to all staff; Communicate and coordinate with all staff completing your Shift Change Crossover.
• Must have a valid Drivers License.
• Must have experience
• Must clear Live Scan and DOJ Background Clearance
