Job Description
This role will oversee all Elliott Homes developments within this market. The Superintendent will be responsible for the implementation of construction field policies and procedures in Alabama, along with the continuous interfacing with sales, purchasing, land development, and production departments to achieve corporate goals.
- To Create a Place Where Life Gets Better through managing the construction of our customers’ homes.
- Fully utilize the resources provided to complete the home on time, with exceptional quality, and within budget.
- Evaluate project costs and maintain budgets including PO’s, VPO’s, and verifying back charges are processed. Communicate all variances to a designated contact.
- Be proficient at using our online portal as both a communication and information resource between the field, vendors, and the office.
- Actively use the company’s dashboard reporting for monitoring your own performance.
- Manage multiple homes while potentially covering several communities within the region.
- Oversee the schedule compliance, delivery/use of materials, the quality of construction, worker productivity, and compliance with building/safety codes.
- Maintain safe, clean, and compliant job sites.
- Conduct the Orientation and Celebration Meetings with customers.
- Participate in team daily huddles, regular team meetings.
- Daily/weekly interactions with customers, homeowners, trades, and municipality officials.
- Work alongside the Land Development team to ensure the subdivision land to-homes turnover is complete.
- Ensure the development plan delivered to Elliott Homes is being followed.
- A minimum of 5+ years of directly related experience in the home building industry.
- Demonstrated leadership skills to manage and develop a high-performance team.
- Expert knowledge of local trades’ building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Understands of all facets of the construction process; ability to read and comprehend detailed construction blueprints, specifications, and detailed development drawings
- Manage time effectively, multi-task, and prioritize to maintain schedule compliance for production.
- Computer proficiency is required to handle purchase orders, schedule, and communication with vendors.
- Be decisive, flexible & work well under pressure when faced with unexpected situations or delays, and in a very fast-paced environment.
