Reports to: Camp Director
Overview:
The Camp Health Supervisor is an individual who meets Wisconsin State code ATCP 78.19(5)(b) to provide routine and emergency health care supervision at the camp.
Specific Duties:
- General Camp Tasks
- Follow all camp rules and ensure that staff and campers are as well.
- Abide by Personnel Policies & Procedures of the ULBGC Camp.
- Follow all State of Wisconsin, American Camp Association, and other certifying body guidelines.
- Trainings and meetings
- Attend trainings pertinent to running the camp’s health center
- Attend staff training sessions as deemed appropriate by the Camp Director
- Check in with Camp Director regularly.
- Supervisory
- Coach staff in proper care of campers
- Alert the Camp Director any concerns of poor staff performance and lack of follow up
- Camp Health Supervisor Specific Tasks
- Follow treatment guidelines as set in the Standing Orders
- Record all treatment provided in the log
- Keep the Health Center following State of Wisconsin Laws, including but not limited to cleaning, organization, and maintenance of supplies
- Communicate with the Camp Director supply needs in a timely manner
- Report facility issues to the Property Manager in a timely manner
- Complete paperwork such as incident reports, grant reporting, and more as assigned by camp leadership and the office manager
- Work with the Camp Director regarding all required parent contact
- Manage emergency health situations and communicate with EMS. Communicate with Camp Director to delegate staff if transportation to an emergency room is required.
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must meet Wisconsin State code ATCP 78.19(5)(b)
- Great communication skills
- Good follow through on tasks
- Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred
- Experience leading and coaching staff a plus
- Must live on camp in cabins while camp is in session
- Able to manage emergency situations and direct people appropriately
