About Us
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Inspector to join our team. This position involves technical inspection, including inspecting construction installation and demolition work, adherence to safety and environmental plans, workmanship and materials conformance with established requirements, materials testing, and monitoring.
Here’s What You’ll Be Doing
- Serving as daily resident field inspector of contract construction work with utility construction site to ensure performance according to contract specifications.
- Visually inspecting the quality and grade of material in construction.
- Preparing required reports and maintaining records on inspection activity and the status of work in progress.
- Ensuring adherence to established codes and standards as well as project specifications.
- Obtaining evidence and preparing notices concerning violations that have not been corrected.
- Interpreting construction requirements and recommending compliance procedures to contractors, craft workers, and owners.
- Observing conditions and issuing notices for corrections to persons responsible for conformance.
- Performing any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Applicants must be able to work overtime, and weekends as needed.
Here’s What You Need
- High school diploma. Specialized schooling or job education in construction inspection is a plus.
- OSHA-10 is a plus.
- 5+ years of related inspection experience or schooling is a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze, and understand engineering plans and specifications.
- Ability to effectively communicate with engineering and construction personnel about site activities and project progress.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) for reporting and communicating.
- Personal vehicle for transportation to and from worksite and at worksite.
- Basic knowledge and skill to work on an iPad.
