Summary:
The Resident Health Manager will coordinate the day-to-day medical services and record keeping for youth in the care of Inspire GA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Resident Health Manager will perform duties including, but not limited to:
- Provide guidance to Medical Coordinator regarding all medical, mental health, and dental aspects of the youth’s care.
- Ensure intake, placement, and discharge procedures including conducting/coordinating/reviewing/updating assessments, service plans, forms, and packets and collecting and uploading respective documents into Inspire GA electronic health record (EHR) system and the government’s database (UCP) within the mandatory timeframe.
- Ensure all medical documentation, including progress notes are completed and uploaded to Inspire GA electronic health record (EHR) system and the government’s database (UCP) within the mandatory timeframe.
- Ensure all aspects of the Inspire Georgia Medical Plan and communicable disease protocols are followed.
- Ensure that within 2 hours of youth’s admission, Inspire Georgia will speak with the youth about whether they have any health conditions (disabilities, allergies, diseases, mental andbehavioral health issues, etc.) and whether those health conditions require medication or other services during the child’s initial entry into care.
- Coordinate with Medical Coordinator and/or program staff to ensure the provision of medical intake assessments for each person served within 48 hours of arrival in compliance with ORR Policies.
- Work in collaboration with Medical Coordinator, Case Managers, and Case Aides to schedule and coordinate examinations in a timely manner and within ORR and RCC prescribed timeframes for each youth.
- Work with Medical Coordinator to ensure the administration and implementation of physician orders, and when appropriate, educating the appropriate staff on administering medication and/or treatment.
- Work with Medical Coordinator to ensure all staff are versed in universal precautions, and treatment and reporting of communicable disease.
- Provide program staff with injury prevention strategies for the youth.
- Ensure HIPPA compliance with medical information regarding the youth.
- Provide oversight of medication management and audit of all medical supplies, tests, including prescriptions to be administered to youth at the site.
- Prepare Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) prior to appointments and follow up after approval to coordinate service with healthcare provider.
- Understand health and safety standards for ORR out-of- home care, RCC licensing requirements.
- Maintain list of community health and mental health resources for children.
- Maintaining Red Cross CPR/First Aid Trainer’s Certification.
- Performing other duties as requested.
- Must possess a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, human services, social service fields or business administration or management.
- Have experience in pediatric medical services coordination.
- Understand Medicare reimbursement codes and Treatment Authorization Request (TAR) creation and submission.
- Maintain compliance with attending agency required training programs.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required.
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel, and Outlook.
- A willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours.

- Must have a personal vehicle, a valid Georgia Driver's license and have personal auto insurance and a good driving record.
Success Factors:
- Experience with medical coordination for youth.
- Experience monitoring and ensure health milestones are met, documented timely.
- Ability to respond quickly and flexibly to health emergencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple program managers and staff.
Regularly required to talk and hear. Required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools and controls: and reach with hands and arms. Required to operate personal vehicle.
Employees frequently lift and or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:This position will require intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, and regular moving of light objects. This position is hybrid between remote & onsite. This position requires primary residence within the state of Georgia. This is a government funded position and will remain as long as funds for this position's grant remain available.
