Performs basic care activities essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Observes resident physical, mental, and emotional status and reports any changes.
- Reads and follows service plans, attends meetings, and reviews daily reports in the interest of resident care.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, such as bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, walking, transferring, and turning.
- Applies minor first-aid measures such as compresses, ice, and heat as directed by a nurse.
- Assists with meal service, prepares, or examines food trays for prescribed diet, feeds residents, and records food intake when required.
- Responds to resident inquiries and directs the appropriate person as needed.
- Responds promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
- Assists with Life Enrichment activities as needed.
- Provides routine updates to other Wellness team members and completes required recordkeeping tasks.
- May assist with housekeeping duties, including removing garbage, making beds, cleaning apartments, and washing, drying, and putting away laundry.
- May obtain and record resident vital signs and weight.
- May collect samples from residents for testing, such as sputum, urine, stool, and/or blood.
- Practice basic infection control with linens, hand washing, and in all other aspects of delivery of resident care.
- Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled by the Executive Director.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident, community, employee, and company
- Maintain working knowledge of fire and disaster plans and responsibilities under emergency conditions.
- Pass medications as directed by the Director of Nursing - Med Certification can be acquired within the first 90 days.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
