  • Master's Degree in: Counseling, Higher Education or Student Affairs
Related experience in a leadership position in a college environment.
  • Experience as a Resident or Graduate Assistant.
  • Experience working with academic initiatives, undergraduate students, staff supervision, selection and training, and judicial process.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and/or front-line response to highly complex incidents.

The Apartment/Residence Hall Coordinatorsare live-in staff members who are responsible for creating a living/learning community that contributes to the personal and academic success of residents through collaboration with students, staff, and faculty. The size of each residence community ranges from 300 to 2700 residents. The major functions of these positions are to supervise a Resident Assistant Staff, provide direction and supervision in specific assignments (hall desk, student government, etc.), and respond to a wide variety of academic and personal development situations.

As a live-in Residence Hall position, responsible for creating a living and learning community that contributes to the personal and academic success of residents. Supervises student staff.

Salary compensation: Dorm/Apartment, Ethernet, laundry, Meal plan and Professional development (discussed with department)

This position is a one year term with the possibility of renewal.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

Summary
As a live-in Residence Hall position, responsible for creating a living and learning community that contributes to the personal and academic success of residents. Supervises student staff.
Example of Duties
  • Recommends and develops use of space that promotes academic achievement.
  • Assists in developing an environment that supports the community living standards.
  • Assists students in their academic and social adjustments to the university.
  • Advises and counsels students in developing academic and interpersonal competence.
  • Interprets and administers university policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the conduct system in the residence community that includes hearing student disciplinary cases and administering sanctions.
  • Collaborates with academic departments and builds relationships with Learning Communities.
  • Prepares and submits reports related to residence life operations.
  • Opens, closes and secures the community at the beginning and end of each semester and during break periods.
  • Meets with dining, custodial, maintenance and facilities staff to ensure quality service delivery, completion of repairs, etc.
  • Supervises undergraduate Resident Assistance staff.

  • Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision
  • Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode
  • Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope
  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data for which answers are available or can be obtained
  • Responds to inquiries and issues, escalating to manager or higher level workers as appropriate
  • May lead projects of limited scope and complexity
  • May provide guidance to students
